Thanks, I appreciate the invite. My day job is running a truck driving school. But I have a hidden job market with thousands of jobs.
With people that aren’t working or get laid off… this will help. Or if you’re looking for a better job.
In 2008 I was a Tumwater police officer, and the department was shrinking. I have a commercial drivers license but Im’ a single dad, so I couldn’t drive around the country.
I thought there was maybe 400-500 transportation companies around the state. I thought I could start applying. Well, there was over 6000 companies, with every position you can imagine! And when there’s an opening, no one applies for them.
When I got out of the military I was told to get a state job, but there are a ton of jobs…
These are not for driving jobs. We are looking for people that want to work in IT or HR, or other. The US is being hit by a drivers shortage. Now they take their current staff and send them to schools like ours, but them their job becomes vacant.
I got all over the state to teach our hidden job market.
This works for people that want to get a better job too!
This trucking company called Ready Way… they are looking for all kinds of positions. And their idea was to put this on Craigslist under the CDL drivers jobs. This is why it’s a hidden market.
Call us asking for a placement specialist – 253-983-0200. We haven’t found a position that isn’t available yet. We placed a nurse with UPS recently.
Tell us you want to talk to a placement specialist, this means you don’t want to drive a truck. It’s a 501C3, which is a non-profit.
The average entry wage for Ready Way is over $70k to start.
BUT truck driving sucks!!! You will make $6-10/hour for two years. Then you can get over $70k/year locally. So you have to put in your time.
But we broke the system. These companies view us as a source of people. Ready Way sends their recruiter to us.
You are actually doing US the favor when you come to us.
Our tag line is “be home every night”. It’s very fun the way I’ve designed my life. I get to help people get jobs, I get to play in a semi truck, and I get to play on my YouTube channel teaching people how to invest in small multi family.
Right now I’m house hacking in WA and making net $1700. And I’m looking for one of these in Arizona so I can snowbird :-).

When would someone not qualify?

Transportation doesn’t care about your background. Degree, no degree, trades, try to challenge us with a job that you think we can’t help with.
Let me tell you a story…
I met a guy that had a personality like wall paper, but he wanted to be a salesman. It took us a month but we found him a job with a funeral home. He was perfect!

How does a trucking company get a job with a funeral home?
Dion
They need to get coffins delivered. There are so many relationships in transportation!
When I started with the trucking company, they were really good people and wanted to help people. But I had an idea and took a chance. I wanted to find a non-profit that could help the school grow. The owners gave me a shot, and if it worked out I would get to run the place. And it worked out!

I’m glad you asked. We work with trucking companies that are in all 50 states. Trucking companies work in hubs or terminals.

Some companies are small, but others are big like Pepsi, even with pensions. You have everything across the board.

Are there part time positions?
Dion
Yep, there are part time and full time. We work with a lot of students and people coming out of the military.
Go outside your house to the closest big road and look for trucks without a sleeper. Write down the number for that company, that means there’s a terminal close by.

There are lots of opportunities for you to get into a house without a job with a lease option, until you get a track recored with your job.
